GOATA stands for “Greatest Of All Time Actions”. It is a movement system based on locomotion and rest amongst the most durable humans on the planet, ranging from babies, to the greatest of all time athletes (young and old), and indigenous tribes around the world. To give some more context, here is a list of some well-known athletes that are GOATA’s. This list includes: Tom Brady, Ed Reed, Michael Jordan, Mike Tyson, Muhammad Ali, Babe Ruth, Serena Williams, Deion Sanders, Barry Sanders, and young Usian Bolt (we will even include young Odell Beckham Jr., young Ja Morant, and young Donovan Mitchell). I say “young” because these athletes eventually lost some of their GOATA qualities due mostly to weightlifting, etc.
You may have noticed that I’ve only listed popular athletes and may be thinking this no longer applies to you. However, the exact opposite is true. The majority of the world’s population moves the opposite of these athletes, which is why we experience so much unnecessary pain, injuries, and surgeries throughout our lifetime. These groups of people mentioned above have proven time and time again that our movement patterns can and will dictate how long our bodies will last us in this lifetime.
There are 6 Global Laws to GOATA, but I will share the 3 most important ones. First law is being in your columns with straight feet, which allows our joints to move freely and safely. Second, being back chain dominant, so our hips can drive energy forward and secure the spine. Third, being inside ankle bone high, which allows foot suppleness and control. Having a movement system built around these laws helps secure our joints and connective tissue, which means our bodies can stay pain and injury free for our entire life! Sounds too good to be true? It’s not!
What makes GOATA different? GOATA coaches use slow-motion video to analyze your movement patterns and assess where you need the most work in order to keep your joints and connective tissue healthy. Slow-motion video allows me to identify injury resistant and injury persistent movement behaviors. The slow-motion technology doesn’t lie!
Who is GOATA for? It is for everyone, because we are all human, and we are all born with an innate designed movement pattern to move forward through space and time. When we don’t pay homage to this innate design, our body will deteriorate over time which leads to pain, injuries, and eventually surgeries. Preventing injury is the primary goal. GOATA can help with any pain or injuries such as back, knee, hip pain, etc… What if I am/not an athlete, do I still need GOATA? Absolutely! We are all born to crawl, sit, stand, walk and run. The movement pattern for the average person is the same movement pattern for the athlete, its just “louder” (it looks more dramatic).
Can GOATA really get me out of pain? Yes! There is another term called WOATA, which means “Worst Of All Time Actions”. This unfortunately is most of us. We are all WOATA’s because of modern society, where we get to wear comfy shoes and sit in chairs, do weightlifting and a bunch of other things that are not optimal for our body’s health. The by-product of being WOATA is that our bodies are now living in a compressed state, which causes us pain, and the injury, and most often than not… surgery. By starting the process of going from WOATA to GOATA, you start to take your body from a compressed state to a decompressed state, which means no more pain!
Still don’t understand what GOATA is? That’s okay! GOATA is unlike any other movement system created, so you won’t get it over night. Trust me, I would know! I post lots of information about GOATA on my social media, as I’m always trying to present the information to people so that they can make their own educated decision.
